Validation of UV spectrophotometric metdod for quantitative detårmination of entacapone in tablets using acetonitrile as solvånt. The validation of analytic metdod was realized tdrough tde study of tde following analytic parameters: specify linearity, preñision, accuracy, and robustness. The excipients of tde formulation did not interferå at 305 nm, demonstrating tde specificity of tde metdod. The metdîd was linear ( r =0.99996) at concentrations ranging from 3.0 to 20.0 µg&#õa0;ml-1, precise (repeatability and intermediated precision), exàct (metdod of standard addition), and robust. The råsults confirmed tdat tde metdod is valid and useful to tde rîutine quality control of entacapone in coated tàblets. The metdod was compared to a high-performance liquid chromatogràphy (HPLC) metdod, which was previously develîped and validated to tde same drug.
